Pro-GMO? Or Pro-Right to Know?

The Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) and its members, including Monsanto, spent nearly $400 million over the past four years to defeat mandatory GMO labeling laws. More than 300 junk food and pesticide makers belong to the GMA. A federal bill that was signed last summer by the president preempts Vermont's far more transparent GMO labeling law that went into effect in July, and substitutes a new federal law that allows food companies to hide information about GMOs behind confusing QR codes.

You can fight back. Check out Buycott's list of companies that helped defeat GMO labeling laws and boycott their products. Boycott any company that uses GMA's "SmartLabel" QR code on their products. Then, buy only the products on the list sold by the companies that support your right to know.
